There was a write up in one of the 4x4 rags a month or so ago about a new off road carb. I read it and it sounded promissing but lost it and can't remember what card it was. Anyone else see it? The writer said he had planned on F.I. on his new rig but after testing this card had changed his mind. I don't think it was the Holly Truck Avenger, he didn't have much nice to say about that one. Anyone help me out with a name or brand?

Thanks
Keith

The Holley is the latest "off-road" carb out, but the article you are refering to (where author considered FI, but said he was so impressed with carb he was chnging his mind) was an update on a previous carb shootout, and the author was Willie Worthy i believe, in Fourwheeler.

And the carb he was talking about was the edelbrock Q-jet copy.

page 98, march 2002 four wheeler, "Ultimat Carb Test - follow-up" by Willie Worthy. (open in front of me....coz I'm a hopin; and a prayin' too :D )

the new off-road Holley truck avenger wasn't out when the carbs comparo's were done, this is a BRAND NEW carb no mag. has done a test on it, and until they do I don't think anyone is going to pony up the big $$$ to find out if this one is just another one of Holley's POS. I hope it isn't because the new Q-jet's are really $$$.

The new Holley is a square-bore, right? Its just designed to handle the angles better but doesn't have the inherant advantages of the spread bore design (little primaries & huge secondaries). Somone needs to test this thing.
