I am working on a neighbors truck, having clutch problems, how hard to trade to auto. I know advance adapters makes kit but that is kinda pricey and he really doesn't have that kind of money any junkyard cheap ways to do it? Any help would be appreciated.

I have done this myself while I was getting Auto rebuilt. As long as they both have 205 x-cases on them it is a direct fit no mods. I used the same crossmember and the same d-shafts. My 205 x-cases both had the fixed yokes and I converted them to the 1350 u joints. Easy swap besides lifting these HEAVY MO FOS off the ground.....:D

It depends on what t-case is hooked to the tranny as to how much you can reuse. It also depende on what year the truck is. Before 1980 the 465 had a 10 spline output. No auto's share that output. 81 and after had 32 splines. Also the length in the setup changes requiring different driveshaft lengths. I usually do the opposite swap of what you are talking about having gone from a 350/203 to a 465/205 once and a 700/208 to a 465/205 and needed new front and rear driveshafts every time.
It can definatly be done by scrounging junkyards, but it is easier if you can find a donor truck.
