i thought all the 3/4ton+ ford trucks were all superduties???? lol... shows how much i know...
here is the exact truck im pulling the rear axle out of:

that truck was recently wrecked, and i got a hook-up....
what axle does that have in the rear?
the front is a d60 FF balljoint axle? i think... not sure but i think both axles have 3.73 gear ratios...

The only problem with the super duty axles is the bolt patterns are metric. So unless you have the same front axle your going to have 2 different wheel size/patterns.

front and rear axles are from the stock truck above....
i believe the front is d60 FF, and not sure what the rear is? is it 10.25" or 10.5" sterling, also... is it a full floating, or semi floating axle?

Heck ya, grab 'em up if they are free. Can always sell 'em on ebay as a matched set or the front an get 800-1200 for 'em.

That rear will be a 10.5" FF. There's a fair chance its a limited slip. You'd have to check the tag and report back with the #s you find.

Yeah, all ( '99-'04 ) Super Duty front axles have the Unit Bearings. They used to sell "lifetime warranty" replacements for them. However, they quit selling them b/c soo many people were using them. I have the cute Dana 50 in mine since it's an early 99 model. They switched over to D60's around 2002. Anyway, if you decide you want to sell it, I might be interested. At least I could get rid of my D50.

Yeah Dynatrac does make a nice conversion kit but it runs about $2,500 to $3,000 depending on what you want. ( X-over knuckle, steering etc. )

ouch, for that you could go to a older servicable unit.

Yea, I heard you could convert the front bearings over but I don't know about the cost - $2,000 + sounds too high but I guess so.
The rear should be disc brake and 10.5" also.
Go figure - this dude gets axles for free then thinks about what to use them for :shaking: while everyone else builds their junk then goes looking for beef axles. Maybe we got it backwards?!?
They didn't get damaged in the wreck did they, I mean for an insurance Company to total out a $$$ truck it's got to be pretty bad. I've seen them bring back vehicles I would never drive on the road again.
