What vehicles can i pull these transfer cases off of?
231HD
242HD
they've gotta be driver's side drop, also thinking about the NV 242HD AMG used in the hummer, but i'm assuming that that bastard will get really pricey.

Better off with a 241. The 241 HD came on Dodge diesels, but I'm not sure about the drop side.
You can get a regular 241 (stronger than a 231 HD and I'd be willing to bet almost exactly the same as a standard 242, whatever that is) out of most any late 80s or '90s Chevy or Dodge and they came in both passenger and driver's side drop, depending on the year and application. Best of all, they can be had for $300-400. Depending on what you're doing with it, you'll have to add an SYE and possibly change th input gear and, if it's out of a Chevy, replace the front output flange with a 32-spline yoke from a Dodge.
I think the driver's side drop came in 89 and later Chevy trucks (Blazers, Burbans had Psgr side drop) but I'm not sure. Dodge--I have no idea. Check the pirates bible or do a google search or something.
