first 4 wheel drive club meeting of the year got me stoked on wheeling again.
in my truck i'm gonna be running a chevy NP203 to a jeep D300 to a ford 9".
the 300 and 9" are both setup for single 1310s, i had it in the old truck and i have the driveshaft out of the old truck, but i want to turn the pinion up and run a CV at the t-case. the benifits would be gettin my pinion out of the rocks and getting a smoother highway ride (club's goin to AZ for spring break and i'm hopeing i'll be ready)
if possible, it would be nice to have a flanged setup, so i can fab a t-case brake. i'm also not a fan of import parts.
so what options do i have?
the cheapest idea i came up with was to run a 1310 CV at the T-case, and have a driveline shop put a 1310 CV at the end of my old driveshaft. i'm only running a 4 cylinder, but i dont want think twice about sidesteping the clutch at 5k
most expensive would be to get the HD output, convert the 9" to a 1350 or 1410, and have jess make me a 1350 CV.
another idea i was playing around with was a saignaw (sp?) CV off a blazer. but where could i find a flange for the D300?
any ideas? and how strong are 1310 CVs?
