: Beadlocks issues/Throwing some praise

A few months ago, I called MRT about their beadlocks and asked if they deal on prices. He said that they don't but to call one of their dealers. He recomended Gorforth Tire in Tenn. He said ask for Scott.

So I called Scott and told him that I needed some 15x10's 8 lug 3.5" bs. He said that he had 5 in stock for $199 each. I said "ship em".

Well they showed up and I measured them to verify that all was well and it was not. 3 were 3.75" bs and one was 3.5"bs. All of the boxes said 3.5" bs though. I called Scott and let him know that they were wrong but that I only needed one new beadlock at 3.75" bs and I'd use them. He told me that MRT was having issues and that they were not making wheels. I tod him that I would wait (Cause I had plenty of time). Well, a few weeks go by and then I hear that MRT has sold to the original owners. "Cool" I thought...they'd take care of business and get back on track. Scott said that it'd be few weeks for them to get product. In the meantime, I called Scott and told him that I need to start mounting tires and he said the run them if I needed to and I could still return the 3.50" one. So, we pulled them out to mount them and the first one was just about finished but we couldn't get 2 bolts to line up...and some were crooked:mad3: We started looking closer at the ring and the holes were not drilled correctly. We looked at the next rim and it was really fawked:mad3:

So, I stopped and waited til Monday. On Monday, I called MRT and spoke with Brant. I told him that I was looking to see when they were going to have wheels made and explained that I'd need some new rings with the holes drilled correctly. He told me that they were not responsible for the previous owners fawk-ups and that I could buy rings. I told him that it was a damn good thing that I bought these from a dealer and not direct cause I was going to return them and tell everyone what a $hitty product they had and fawked customer service too. Wirth that, I hung up and called Scott. I told him that I was shipping these fawking things back and for him to get me a set of Allieds (He's a dealer for them too!) He said no problem that I would have a refund of about $300 coming to me because they are only $150 each.

So they arrived yesterday. Unlike the MRT's, they had every single bolt installed. This made it real easy to verify that the holes were true. And they all had the same bs too! I called Scott back and let him know that I had received the wheels and that it looked like they would work perfectly. I also asked him if his $150/wheel was his normal price and he said "Yep....and if your ever in Tellico, give me a ring and I'll come wheel with ya"

The Cust. Service from Scott was outstanding. If your looking for wheels (Or even tires) give him a call. He'll try his best to help you out.

Damn. That sucks to hear this because I just bought $1000 worth of beadlocks from the same people you talked to at MRT. (Original owners.)

must be i got my mrts before the big downhill slide. i had ordered them through sams offroad cause he had the best price, i believe i paid $150 each for them. they are 15x10 inch with 3.5 inch backspacing. all the bolts lined up fine the wheels were in great shape and i got them in less than a week, all 5. they have been getiing $hit on alot lately on this board but i havnt had a problem with them. i ordered them before rockstomper, allied and most the others were in full production. personally i like the all steel wheels im not a big fan of the trailready/ avalanche kind with the aluminum ring and i have seen the aluminum ring on a champion go from brand new to terribly chewed up in 1 day and these aluminum ring wheels aint cheap. if i was ordering beadlocks today i believe rockstomper would get my order.

Dont get me wrong I like my aluminium beadlocks no one else could make any for me at the time. but I was told that if the wheels failed they would replace them. Now that wont happen I wanted the steel rockcrawlers but they couldnt make my lug pattern

No pics:( New fawking laptop and the docking station now houses the cd drive to load the sw....and I'm at home today.

Don't get me wrong, if the rings were drilled correctly, those beadlocks would have been badass...but, it also about customer service and those new/original owners can go fawk themselves. I do believe that the new product coming out will be top notch quailty..but it sux that they couldn't help fix some issues that myself and some others had.

I thnk that the Goforth that I called was in Kodiak, TN. but they have another store. Also, Scott is Scott Goforth so he has some interest in keeping his name clean;)

Speaking of Beadlocks I have become a dealer for Rock-A-Thong Steel Bead lock rims. Can make them in any size you want and two styles to choose from. I will be running the black with Chrome centers on my 62 Scout tube creation "Project X"

The prices for the 32 bolt are similar to the prices for MRTs 16 bolt models.

Any one running these. Saw a nice write up in The rags latley on them.

I got my MRT's a couple weeks before Scott at Rockstomper came out with his. They all got here in a few days, were in great shape, and had all the bolts installed. I mounted them up without going through any of the fancy installation instructions, and haven't balanced them, and they have all held air great, been aired up and down many times already, and still ride smooth. I guess I got lucky?

Scout Dude after reading this the one thing that I have to commend you for is knowing exactly who you are talking to on the phone and remembering their names so when you call back they can't pull any bullsh*t on you. It sounds like that is what MRT was trying to do to you, glad to hear that Goforth made matters right for you.
