: Instaling 4.3L in samurai

I will be attempting to put a 4.3L into my samurai. What kind of tips could you guys give me. There was already a 2.8L before so I only have to weld the mounts to the braket that are already there.

Need more info as to what you want to do with respect to the swap and how you intend to wheel your rig. What year 4.3L? Vortec? EFI? PCM or not? It makes a big difference in the amount of effort and money involved. GM has made the 4.3 in various configurations for many, many years so you have a lot of options.

I'm not worried about the wirring right now. Just the engine placement

Well I just helped put a 2003 4.3L Vortec into a Toyota and we made our own frame towers and engine mounts...but I don't know how much of that applies to a Sammy.

Keep it low as low as possible for center of gravity and as high and far back as possible for ground/axle clearance...everything is a compromise.

i have a 4.3 in a 83 toy pickup headers were a problem the throttle linkages was but not too bad. what tranny are you running?

This would get it! Sounds fun for such a light rig. Better have the right axles!
