I am going to swap in some YJ's into the front of my 85 runner. I was wondering on average how much lift these springs give, how stiff they are and how well they flex. I did do a search but it came up with nothing. I am hoping they will only give like three inches of lift over stock springs.
Thanks

I would say absolutely none - the rear 5 leaf yj spring pack I have on my jeep is actually a reverse arch..

Yeah I'm talking about YJ front springs.

I've got them on the front of my '84 4Runner, using 5 leaf YJ rears I got 1/2" of lift, I expected a little more, but I am real happy with them anyway, they ride way nicer, and flex alot more. If you have ant Q? let me know.

They are available from procomp in 2.5" and4" lift ($75 a corner!!!). They are very soft and flex awesome. Use the rear pack, they are 5 spring instead of four and are less prone to bending. I tortured mine and they bent, drove off a 6' ice ledge at about 20 mph (no bumpstops). They are an excellent spring all around

So everyone seems to agree I should use YJ rear springs on the front of my 4-runner is that right? They measure the same eye to eye?

I'm running 4" YJ front springs on the frontend of my Toy, and they are OK, but not all that I expected. I got around 5" of lift at first, but they have sagged about 2" now, so my truck has a Stinkbug look. Aslo, they are quite stiff, especially on the road. Offroad, they aren't too bad, but I really expected more flex from them. Keep in mind, these are front springs, which are supposedly too soft from what i was told. Soon I plan to find a set of 2.5" springs and do some combining of the packs, to see if a can get better flex. Good luck!

The 4" packs are way tall and more arch usually means less flex. Either go with stock or the 2.5" lift springs. My 2.5" pro comp springs are very soft, ride great on the street and are very flexy.

I have the YJ rears(5 leaf) with a full length leaf added as 2nd leaf on the front of my S10 with 4.3/700r4(probably close to toy with 4.3 swap). The springs are pretty soft, on the highway I get some death wobble :D but the flex on the trail is worth it. Max out 5012's no prob.

I'm been running 4" skyjacker softride rear yj springs for over a year now and have abused them. They haven't sagged more that 1" and give plenty of flex. Go for it, you will have to get a longer shackel to keep them from bottoming on the frame though.

has anyone gone to a wrecking yard and actually pulled these stock springs out of a YJ and had any sucess? Also, how did you guys overcome the whole issue with one spring perch being higher than the other on toyotas?
Thanks

I think it's 3/8" difference, so you just need a piece of steel 3/8" thick with a hole in it, and mount it under the spring. Make it the same size as the spring pad and weld it in. easy :D
