I was in a turd polishing kind of mood recently and decided to fab a t-case bucket using some the random pieces of scrap metal I have laying around my garage.
Not much tech here...just pics of what I made.

I did have to make one small change that isn't reflected in the pics above. I forgot to drill a hole for the speedo cable lock bolt.

make sure you beef up the short arm alittle more around the frame mounting area. What alot of people do is take some like 1/2" bar stock and bend it around the parimeter of the arm. Mine is done this way and still bend alittle bit.
I have the stock rubber in mine and it split in half the other day. I was thinking about buying the Mighty Kong, but maybe I'll build one instead... I do have lots of metal laying around.

x2 people never think to beef up the mounts to the frame. Good work.

Nice job. How is it to get in and out of the rig?
And x3 on the short side arm. Here is a pic of what mine ended up looking like in the last phase of its life:

I thought about doing this with some round stock but I didn't have any. I may add it later.

Thanks. Installation into the Zuk was not difficult. Just a littler heavier due to the weight of the bucket. However, getting the t-case into the bucket takes a little brute force with a rubber mallet. The fore and aft mounting bolts give it a real tight fit.

I think it would cheaper to buy a DIY kit from RockRat. I don't have prefab templates which means the cost to you would be enormous.

Im runnin bolt thru poly bushes for my mounts, but I was a little surprised to find that Id pulled the transfer case mount off the chassis rail.........!
The ont that bolts to the short arm was torn all the way out of the chassis and only held on by a few mm of weld at the top corners.......
Dunno if anyone else has experienced this...?

I think it was Azrockcrawler who has done something similiar. It could have been somebody else. I do remember somebody ripping one of the mounts off the frame before though.:D
