Does anyone know what was discussed at the BLM meeting in Redding last night 3/27/02 regarding Shasta Chappie Ohv Park? I was a day late reading the newspaper and missed the meeting. I know the staging area has been closed since sometime after 9/11/01. I was wondering if anything was resolved or if an alternate route to the staging area was discussed. I actually haven't been out there since about this time last year, but entered via French Gulch at that time.

For those who haven't been there the staging area is just below Shasta dam and you have to cross the dam to get there. The road accross the dam has been closed for security reasons since 9/11

The entrance for some time now has been off Iron Mnt Road on the other side of the mnt.

Yep, I have always gone in through Iron Mt. Rd. They spent some time and $$$ improveing the parking lot a couple of years ago, but it is still no match for the main entrance.
