I have been searching for 2 hours but have no come up with any info on adding power brakes to a 74 CJ5 Renegade. It obviosuly doesnt have them and I would like to add it. I will be running a Dana 30 fron with factory disk brakes and a dana 44 rear with the disk brake setup described here

If any vehicle ever came with a smaller than fullsize hydrobooster, that would be tits, otherwise a normal vaccuum booster off anything that'll fit would be fine. I've found all the info about master cylinders and just need to find a booster that will work. So, what have yall done booster wise? Thanks

Probably a good idea to replace the master cylinder. Search for "corvette" or Ford van's "E350", "E-350" M/C. That'll allow for higher volume fluid flow. You planning on adding a vacuum assist or other?

Tell us your failed search strings; we can give you other options

I put a front Dana 44 on my CJ5 about a year and a half ago. I got a rebuilt master cylinder and vacuum booster from NAPA for a CJ7. What I couldn't ever find was the lever that goes between the firewall and the vacuum booster. After looking for the missing part that I need for all of this time I just sort of got used to driving it without the power brakes. I'm still looking by the way.

Just bought a 78 CJ5 w/a 304 that has the stock drivetrain for now(front disc and rear drum,non-power).Haven't had it on the road yet and am wondering is it really that bad -realizing that the pedal pressure will be up there-I have an old 63 GMC manual drum brakes that I drive on a regular basis and am imagining it will be similar -just not sure about the disc non-power thing. Also does the stock set-up have a proportioning valve (this is a fiberglass body jeep that somebody else redid everything on -most of it wrong-lol)Any input will be appreciated.Update-ok I answered my own question-they left the proportioning valve off-damn-it just doesn't end with this sucker!
