I am just thinking about doing this swap as well. I Have a 75 scout with dana 44's just siting around and with my new power plant I think this swap is needed. Let me know how it goes! I Checked out the bolt pattern on the rims and my zuk rims will fit! what a plus.

Scout 44 fronts have a real caster prob for anything but a scout, probly have to turn the knuckles...While your at it, i'd swap the knuckles to waggoneer or chevy, the length of the steering arm is real funky, and no flattop to mount a crossover on...Mike

There is a guy here in Memphis running them - pretty sure he did not rotate the knuckles.
I haven't spoken to him since he did the swap but I will try to track him down.

Shit that looks sweet ... Do you know if he is running his front springs inboarded to the frame? Thanks

Lessee....
This is from foggy memory, but I'm pretty sure he's running Wrangler springs all around, and that's a shackle reverse up front. I'd wager he hung his shackle off of the frame - so to answer your question, yes. I believe his front springs are inboard.
You know, looking at that picture again, he may be running Waggie axles...

I have also heard the same thing with having funky nuckles up front on those....i almost bought one for mine...go with a chevy housing up front with flat tops, and cut the long side down to match a rear wagoneer...Much better!

I cut and turned the knuckles on my Scout when I did the SOA, it's alot of fun. If your not going full width why use the 44 set up? The width in my opinion is the only reason to use the 44's. Why go through all that trouble just to run 44's?
