Just yesterday the wipers on my 2000 TJ started acting up. They will go on and off at random. Keep in mind that this only happens when the switch is turned on. Has anyone else had this problem or know what the cause could be before I tear into this thing. Thanks in advance.

Not sure on a TJ, but on my CJ it was due to a bad ground. Would turn on the wipers, they would make a few passes, then stop for a while. Suddenly go again a few passes and stop.
Turned out to be the ground wire on the wiper motor was bad.

Just my thought.
