: D60 kingpin hieght for steering arms...

I know Blacksheep10 has cut his own arms for D60's before I think he did it with a torch even.. Question is this. On the caps since they hold the kingpin in there with the spring and all that mess... Do you just need to be as high as the stock "cap" is to make it work ? Just quick tape measure holding up to the side of it last night it looked like the top of the stock cap was 2" above the knuckle.

Does this post make any sense to anyone other than me.... :flipoff2: :laughing:

As long as the distance from the top of the knuckle to the inside of the cap is the same on your new arm as it is in the stock form you will be fine.

The whole reason the cap is there is to hold the spring in place, to place pressure on the bushing. If you wanted to, you could just make a totally flat arm with a hole drilled though it for the grease zerk, this would make the bushing level with the top of the knuckle, which is what the spring does anyway. You would have to add shims over time as the bushing wore out, Other that that, there wouldn't really be any problem.
