: Bushing that fits inside a piece of 1 3/4 X .120 tubing
I wanna make some low profile shackle hangers. I need a bushing that will fit insi9de this tube. I have some and it would be an easy way for me to make these.
Prefereably with a 9/16 bolt diameter and a metal sleeve...
Probably to much to ask but why not try!

Hmmm, fast response! Muchos gracias! Apparently this is common jeep knowledge. Should have asked my bro.
Anyway, what kit is this you speak of?

Wouldn't happen to have a part number would you?

Look for the Chevy spring application for 1.5" OD bushings.
The Jeep YJ (?) applications seem to have 4 1.5" bushings and 8 1.25" od bushings or something like that.
yurtle 03-29-2002, 11:43 AM Keep us posted, I am looking for the same info. I have found that the CJ shackle bushings are 1"OD and .5"ID, good for smaller brackets.
This might sound funny but take a look at trailing arm bushings from a VW. They can be found in urethane, with a center bushing, and I am thinking they measure somewhere around 1.5"OD.
You are looking for Chevy spring eye bushings. 1.5" o.d. 9/16" inside the sleeve. they can be purchased at any 4wd shop.
Wilson 03-29-2002, 04:15 PM I'll look for that part number tonight or tomorrow, I think the packaging is still laying around, if not, I'll get it from Mike.

Sorry to bring back a thread from the dead, but at least I used the search button. Wilson do you still know the part # for this kit?
StinkBug 03-14-2004, 10:11 PM You can also call dave at polyperformance. His BA175 bushing kit uses 1.75x.120 wall outer sleeve with an inner sleeve that fits a 9/16 bolt. I use em all the time.

I was thinking about getting those, but I think I can come out by a few less dollars if I just buy the bushings and use my own tube.

The rear chevy bushings I have are way too small. Are there different sizes or did you mean use those bushings with a different sized tube?

I got chevy rear spring bushing kits from 4 wheel parts, each kit had 6 bushings in it that fit perfectly inside a piece of 1.75 x .120, and had a 3/4" OD sleeve that takes a 1/2" bolt. I'm sure you could come up with a new sleeve for the 9/16" bolt, or use a 3/4" bolt.
I don't know the part number cause I threw away the boxes, but they are a chevy rear spring bushing set from energy suspension. If you REALLY can't find them, call 4 wheel parts store in Plano, TX. Ask for Sam and tell him you want the same bushings that Mike Foley just bought a whole shit pot full of.

That's odd. I must have gotten the wrong bushings then because mine are close to 1.25" OD. Thanks for the help though.
Wilson 03-15-2004, 09:08 PM The Pro Comp kit has 8 bushings, 2- 7/8" x 1/2" sleeves and 2- 7/8" x 9/16" sleeves. If you get them from Bent and Twisted, Mike may be able to scrounge up a couple of the larger sleeves.
