I have used and worked on several Jeeps with the Howell system and have been very pleased. It's a fairly easy install and they can program the ECM to run various engines and mods. FWIW I would stay away from Holley Projection. I know a lot of people run them without problems, but I know a lot of people that have had problems with them in the past.

Oh yeah.. SEARCH! You will understand a lot better if you learn yourself rather than expecting the answers to be given to you.

Painlesswiring makes a cheap and good harness.
Street and Performance probally make one of the better harness (Costly though)

There are lots of threads on this. Hope this helps

I am going to use the Painless harness (60101) for my 305 TBI and a 7747 computer.

It doesnt get much simpler than a factory GM TBI system. Just find a wiring diagram online.

If you can install a head unit you can wire a factory TBI harness

Search this site! I lurked here for couple of years, and this past summer put a 4.3 TBI in my 90YJ. It's an easy swap - just make sure to research, have manuals for your jeep and one for your donner engine. This was my first swap, did it all myself using info from this site mostly. If you don't have much wiring experience, I would suggest getting a harness made - I got mine from AFI, along with ECM. Glad I aint the only gezer here (50Yrs old).

I first put a 4.3 tbi into my Fj40, and this past summer upgraded to a 350 tbi. I am running and reccommend the Howell harness. Its not that expensive and extremely plug and play. You can have the harness in and the motor running within a few hours. What I like most about the harness is the wires loom is nice and neat. I had started cutting down the factory GM harness, but was ending up with one wire that was 10 feet long, next to a spliced together wire (one after another) and it wasnt the nice, factory looking install I was after. Plus, the tech support from Howell is awesome. However, theres alot of wire schematics out there on the web that will tell you what you need to do to the harness to make it work. Its a few hours with wire clippers, a manual, and some wire connectors.

BTW- I used the same harness for my 4.3 on my 350. The harnesses are pretty much the same. As the years progressed, they went with a different ECM that has blue and red plugs, from one with two black plugs at the ECM. Make sure you have the right ECM for your harness.

This site has alot of info on this mod. the TBI is probably the easiest "fuel injection(ish) " motor swap you can do.

On my last CJ I used the stock TBI unit and computer. Purchased a Howell harness and it was pretty much plug and play. Easiest way in my opinion.

Also, there was a post just a few days ago regarding what wires to cut from the stock harness and the guy posted a full schematic.

Agreed. Stick to the complete factory system for maximum reliability. IMHO, don't waste money on an aftermarket harness. It's easy to use the factory harness. Some folks just aren't comfortable with wires/electricity.

TBI was the most rewarding mod I've done to my Jeep. It just always runs great.

I have a '92 FS TBI harness (came with the motor) and it's fully jacked ~ broken wires, corrosion. And it's a frickin mess of shit I don't need. Not simple nor elegant. Besides, my '62 can get away without all the emission bells and whistles, but the ECM needs a few things. Like O2 sensor, etc.

Affordable Fuel Injection, a Pirate vendor, I believe has the best product and price. (http://www.affordable-fuel-injection.com/throttle-body-fuel-injection.htm) My full harness was around $300 and it came with a reprogrammed chip, custom-tailored for my needs.

Give 'em a call and support the slaying of ignorance

I reused the stock TBI harness too. The thing probably thinks it's still in a Suburban.
