Do any major parts store chains carry steel caster shims? I don't have time to order them so I need to try to find them locally. I've heard bad things about the alum ones.
Thx.

Check your local tire stores and alignment shops too. When I called around nobody knew what the hell I was talking about until I explained what they were used for

Remember that the fat end goes forward, the shop put mine in backwards the first time and I almost crashed during the test drive.

If you are SOA the fat edge goes in back.

isnt the direction you install them based on if youre moving your pinion up or down????

This is for the rear. SUA

Since I have larger shackles, it has rotated the pinion upwards. In order to rotate the pinion back down, the shims will need to be installed with the fat end toward the shackles.

The aluminum (machined) ones are not bad - it is the pot metal (cast) units that really suck.

The advantage to steel is that once you get it right you can also tack it in place.
