I need some help on putting a set of mini axles under our 65fj40, it has a stock front and I blew the ford 9", so I found some mini axles 1979 year and wanted the front disk, my question has anyone done this before? ( name or number would be great ), I saw an outside frame hanger from " proffitts cruisers", that might work, also trying to get spring perch width, so if moveing the perches on the mini in or out about an inch i think. I also think I need a HI-STEER setup, 4x4labs,allpro offroad, marlin crawler..dont know whis to go with. any advice and help would be great.
thanks

On the minitruck axles the pass. side perch is pretty much as far inboarded as possible, it is actually sitting on the side of the diff, so I think any perch width differences will need to be made up on the frame.
For high steer arms, I'd prolly get the marlin 6 hole arms just because then you can have the 6 stud knuckles and not have to worry about them at all. They work on normal knuckles too.

funny you should ask this.. this cruiser is running mini everything, has a great shot of the axles under a bare frame in the last page of the thread

mine was running a mini rear and mini-disk conversion on the stock cruiser front. now i have a mini-cruiser hybred rear. its about halfway down on this page

now if you broke a ford 9" i dont think a mini-axle is going to give you any benifit as far as strength.. what was the failure on the 9"?

sorry for not getting back I was busy with work and had no puter to get to. well the 9" broke when I was on my way home from work, the seal went on the driver side and i tried to get it home, flat towed it, well I completly lost the wheel and axle shaft going about 40mhp, it shot across the road into a ditch floating like a flagpole. my thought was " this sucks" lol
anyway on removing the rear perches how that done? cutting wheel, grinder,im almost ready to put the front back together.
