hey, I picked up a T350 in trade and the guy i got it from knows nothing about it's condition. any way i can tell what kind of shape it's in without bolting it up ??

smell the fluid... if it smells like burnt caramel..... it could be bad

that being said we had a 76 chev pickup with a th350 and we ran plain old 10w 30 in it for years ( the tranny ....) and believe it or not that trans still worked when the scrap car guy came to haul that POS away...... if you just don't care they will last and last...
