4x4Search 03-29-2002, 07:54 AM Hey... I'm going to go to the junk yard on Monday and Pick up my Waggy's/Chevys for my susp. I'm just wondering what kinds of combos everyone else is running. Please post everything you're running so I know what to do and what kind of lift I'll get. Thanks.
No More Searching :flipoff2:

No More Searching :flipoff2: AP sagged 5"F&R have no idea how much lift which I reall do not give a shit about, I care more about flex, I do not like a lot of lift because it makes it top heavy and then it likes to fall on it's side. Flex is what I am after!!!!
Rabbit 03-29-2002, 08:15 AM Yup yup, I wit the old man here. Sagged 44044's up front, and sagged 5.5" Alcans in the back. I don't want to go no higher, they flex nice right now and she aint too top heavy. When I move up to the 37's I'm just gonna have to take the sawzall to her
44044's, dunno how much lift they give, but i am clearing 38.5x14.5 SX's with no rubbing :D
in teh rear i have a set of stock rear wagoneer's with the main leaf from another rear pack trimmed and placed as the 2nd leaf with a 1in block welded to the perch.
lift height i'm not sure of, and flex is decent, but stability is awesome, if it wasn't for the hydro steering it would be a perfect daily driver with it's road manners.
Note: DSI has 4 inch axle forward too.
I just put on my 44044s in front last week with a 1 inch lift shackle and hanger below frame. Gave me WAY to much lift. (35x14.50s) so i took two leaves out of the 44044s and it is still a little to much but I figure they will settle some.
Your never gonna find a definate answer other than do some 44o44s in front and chebbys rear, youll like them, everyone does...
mwoodruff 03-29-2002, 02:52 PM Via the FAQ, the waggoneer fronts with chevy rears seem to give the *closest* amount of level lift. Sounds like the 44044's yield 2-3" more than the chevy's. Thats the direction I'm going. Now I gotta find someone who can weld......
If your looking for the closest in lift, the stock waggies and chevy rears will be closest I guess.
44044s give a lot fo lift. I actually dont recomend them for anything other that 38s now that I actually have them. i took out two leaves and they are still clearing the shit out of my 35s. But my setup is somewhat different in that I have 9 inches forward axle and most of my fenders are gone...
just do it, dont worry, you can always adjust the lift one way of the other via removing leaves or adding lift hangers and shackles...
Dan 0 03-29-2002, 04:14 PM 44044's with 1 inch drop front hangar 1.5 inch over stock shackle.
1/2 ton chevys 2 inch block,BDS add a leaf,single 7.5 center-to-center shackle.
all on a 90 V6 X-tra cab, rear end sits a little higher and a little stiffer(I still use my truck as a truck) clears 36 no problem, but I also have a 3 inch body which is coming out soon(its a little on the high side):D
yarddog 03-29-2002, 04:49 PM Chevys, 2" blocks, procrap AAL
44044s with one leaf removed and 1.5" longer shackle
I have no idea how much lift it has but I like it right where it is :D
chevy rear, lowered the hanger 1 inch. single shackle of 5 inch in length. 5 inch over all lift.

Wilson 03-30-2002, 02:16 AM too tall for the amount of flex, going from yj's in front to EB coil setup. body lift will probably stay for drivetrain lift. I don't know what the the total amount of lift is, but considering that it is 6" taller than my 4" IFS susp lift/ 3" body lift/ 1" torsion bars & 1" shackles......that puts it around 14-15" of lift w/out tires.

Overkiller 03-30-2002, 02:29 PM I learned the hard way that tall narrow trucks suck so I'm building my '81 to be low and wide. I'm running a Tacoma rear axle and building a Dana 44 up front to match the rear. This puts 1/2 of a 15.5" Swamper outside my body. Now to keep it low and flexy I'm running Stock Wagys up front with the FACTORY:p hangers and 1.5" longer shackles. It gives me maybe just a cunt hair more lift then the 3" lift springs that were on the truck when I bought it. Out back I have 63" Chevys mounted with the stock chevy shackle no double shackles or occilating thingamabobs. I'll be putting the bed back on this weekend and it looks like it'll sit level or a little nose high.

SLO_Crawlers 03-30-2002, 07:07 PM All Pro 4" springs w/ their shakles and Mazda 2wd rear leafs for 1/4 eliptic rear all with 1.5" body lift. It clears my 37" boggers just fine. Pics later.
