Anyone know this A-hole. Add said dana 44 and 9" w/ 4.10's and posi's...Whe go pick them up and get the mud and rust off enough for us to check the gears and we get 3.55's and opens? WTF..Have called multiple times and sent a couple e-mails. He said he would work on it the first time we called and now he isn't answering the phone anymore.

Well this is cowboyup and i want to inform you all of the situation. The axles od the ebay ad are different ones there were my dads. I have neber riped anyone off, nor do I plan on it. The guy i got these from told me they were posi and had 4:11's, I guess I shoulda checked before i posted, but I just took his word for it. I had surgery and am recovering and I have been trying to get ahold of him. He had moved down on the southside of st. louis and I did not know that so it took me a couple of days to get his number and he has yet to return my phone call. I will keep your brother informed on the situation and I am continuely working on setting this right. I do not want to be posted as a bad seller.

I'm not backing this guy up or anything but thats a damn good deal. But you might want to check the spline count on the 9". Some were 28 pline.

I know it was a good deal..but they are 31 spline. The deal was for 4.10's that my brother could have thrown in his first rig and done a little wheeling. Here I am telling him how cool it is and how everyone on the trails and pirate rocks and then the first thing he buys....Bam...got fawked..

What town is he in? I see 217 area code . Take them back to him and get your money and some for gas let him deal with whoever he got them from. If you got them for 200.00 thats a good deal imo but why change the post? He should have checked imo.:grinpimp:

Its REAL easy to visually inspect an axle without taking anything apart.

Turn one sidel and watch the other one,if the other side spins the same direction,itsa real good bet it`s atleast a posi.If the other side stays still or does not turn,its either a blown to hell posi or an open diff.

You can also tell how tight a posi is by having one guy hold the other side while you turn your side.Alot of resistance is a good thing.Little to no resistance is bad.If the other guy can`t keep it from staying still you have a welded diff, a spool,or something along those lines.

To figure out the gear ratio,mark a spot on the pinion and a spot on the axle flange/wheel.Slowly turn the wheel and count how many times the pinion turns for one revolution of the axle.If the pinion turns 3 1/2 times,than you have 3.50 or 3.55`s,if it turns just over 4 times,you have 4.10`s or 4.11`s.

Just a lil helpful advice to keep this from happening again.

Sucks man, sorry you got screwed. I sold a 9 inch last month to a guy here on Base for a 100 bucks and he was happy to get it, lots of them to be found around here for cheap. Here is the stupid NOOB question though, what is a Wenzel? I guess this was long before my time.

Not to long ago, pan down a couple pages in this fourm look for the post with 2,000,000+ hits, get a beer( or maybe pack a lunch and get a six pack) and start reading. (Pretty amusing), how a dumb a$$ could trash his life over ~$100 dispute.
