View Full Version : Technically speaking.. shaving for cancer?

I got approval for this :flipoff2:
Last year I did a fund raiser for kids with cancer and I am doing it again - looking for more people to join the team or to just pitch in a few bucks. So.. either join up or pay up. No reason EVERYONE can't pony up a few bucks. Not too many better causes than to help kids with cancer and this is fully tax deductable. Basically I am getting pledges but instead of running some marathon I shave my head. The idea is to not only raise money for kids with cancer but to make the ones in chemo feel a bit more comfortable not being the only bald ones..
It is put on by parents who have lost their kids to cancer and now that I did it once I am hooked.

*EDIT* I donated $10. Sorry it's not too much, but I know every bit can help! Best of luck!

I raised just over a grand last year - trying to top that this year! Roger (FearMe) is also signed up with me and we are getting more people so were hoping to raise a pretty good amount :)

over 200 views and only one person from this post has pitched in? Come awn, I think everyone knows someone that is no longer around because of cancer, now just imagine if that someone was only a few years old..
Just started with a new company, but I think they offering matching funds. I'll find out in the morning. Good way to doulbe the donation.
Just don't post an after photo:flipoff2:
I made a donation of $25.00, still looking into the matching funds deal.

Great Cause,
No reason everyone can't chip in here. It may be helpfull if an address was posted how to the get the donations to the organization.
Also, is this a nation-wide organization, and if so, are there local chapters that PBB members could support in their own communities?

Donations are done by clicking on the link, if you want to send a check directly I have forms I guess I could post (also on the web site). The is DEFINATELY a nation wide thing, you just sign up and find the nearest location and if one doesn't exist you start it.
Thanks :cool2:

your an ugly bastard without hair:flipoff2: i'll give ya 25 bucks. cancer makes you question if there is a God. lost my father-in-law to it, and that was the greatest loss to me to date.

I didn't come back to this post till now, thanks for helping out. I agree it is a crappy thing and I have lost a lot of relatives to it. Luckily no KIDS, but a lot of people have lost their kids and that sucks because they never even get a chance at life :(
With what some of my co-workers gave me today I made a grand, and that is well over 4 grand in 4 years - so I think I have made a dent or atleast helped someone somehow and will continue to do so, watch for my "bump" in about a year ;)
