Well , we changed our minds. I just about bought a 93 x/cab mini yesterday but with the boards help I avoided a mess and paying too much. We want a newer truck anyway. I should of listened to you guys earlier.
I have decided to purchase a 95-97 x/cab 5 speed-v6 tacoma . If anyone has any leads on a good unit, ket me know. We are in Utah & Vegas often.Distance is not a problem for the right unit.
Need a couple of opnions. Is the newer 4 cyl worth looking at?
I had someone tell me they are better than the older 22re??
Should we consider the auto trans ?? I had my mind sset on a 5 speed. Not looking for a modified truck as we have two cruisers already. Need a daily driver.
What do ya think?

The 2.7 4 cyl is real nice! As well as the 3.4 V6 I'm not an automatic fan, so no comment

I've got a '96 V6 5speed x-cab, and I love it, the 3.4 is an awesome engine. Mine is a DD, and will soon pull my sammi to the trails. As far as info goes, tacomaterritory will keep you busy for hours, lotsa good taco info there! :D

I recomend a 3.4 liter V6 also. Got one in my Tacoma. I have 50K o it and it has NEVER been to the shopd for anything but basic maintnance and it runs like a top.

TyTy, what year is your taco? 98 or newer I would guess...If not, it should go in for head gasket service! :eek:

My favorite Taco is the Standard cab 3.4 V6 5 speed. The ex-Cabs have huge wheelbases (120 maybe?) and the standard cab have wheelbases something between 100-105. Problem is that I hear a truck in this configuration is near impossible to find. But they are out there, a buddy of mine has one...

I have the 3.4 V6 Supercharged to the 5 speed, and I love it. Great set up and never had I problem with it, drive it every day. Has about 44K on it, all of which were with the SC.
