Is this still available for the Scout D20 with a 727?
How big of a PITA is a the install. Doesn't look to bad from the Billyvista Article and Mark's 4:1 D300 install.
What say you?

I installed the kit about six months ago, its basiclly the same as a stock rebuild except you have to grind the case to make the gears clear. I have a 77 with 4.56 gears detroits, and the 727 trans. No brakes needed down hill, quiet, and shifts nice.

I run this set in my model 18 in my jeep and love them. I bought mine from the truckfarm. They were the cheapest at the time. I'm sure Billavista's article is cool. I like the part where I pointed out which gear he had in backwards.
He's one I created that will show where to grind on the case to get the gears in.

There was talk about the 3.15 kits, particularly the Scout automatic ones, being discontinued. But that isn't the case. However, they are on limited production, so be prepared to wait.
That being said, let me know if you need one :grinpimp:

I had 33 inch tires on for the last 6 months, but I did a four inch spring, spring over, and have 37 inch mtrs on 10 inch wheels now. I dont know how the engine braking will be with it yet, because my scout is in the garage. I have not finished the steering and drivelines yet. I am trying to figure out a way to get cv's from a used rig to work so I dont have to but new ones for the front and rear. Any ideas?
