Ray Lafreniere 09-03-2001, 08:25 PM Scwafish, are there any links or pics anywhere so we can see this product? I'd be real interested in something like that.
scwafish 09-03-2001, 09:11 PM Kinda funny huh Jim...I have one pic, but its too big. I'll see if I can find a link to there pics.
scwafish 09-03-2001, 09:28 PM Here's an address for some pics, click on tube front end. The lighting in some of the pics isnt the best, I checked these out at SOR and they are really nice. They look sweet in the flesh. http://briefcase.yahoo.com/rich_segebartt

I've got a couple pics of the xtreme4x guy's rigs on my Rubicon trip pics. Both the maroon and green zuks are built by them. The front clips are the same, but it's much easier to see on the green one.
The URL is in my sig. Just goto the Suzuki section and then to the Rubicon pics.

ROCKILLER 09-04-2001, 06:39 PM nothing illegal about a tube front except for the fact that your tires arent covered. you might need some mud flaps for the street.

flexlarson 07-24-2002, 08:37 AM Interseted in some more detailed pics of how the tubular front clip mounts to the tub. Ive looked at the above pics and also the azrockcrawler site.
Also Ive heard that someone makes a clip for 300.00 pre made. Who and where?
Thanks
mud-magnet 07-24-2002, 08:59 AM i never did do it to mine, mostly cause i built a complete new zuki than that one i had at the time, but i was going to weld a flat plate with 4 holes in the corners and bolt it to the fire wall with a matching plate on the inside, and weld it into one piece......

lojones 07-24-2002, 12:04 PM Roadless Gear Rockcrawler Front End $425 (http://www.roadlessgear.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=RGL&Product_Code=X4110&Category_Code=A)

punkskalar 07-24-2002, 12:08 PM I don't see any legality issues with a tube front clip, except maybe the headlights... I know AZ's Rig has Hella driving lamps for headlights, which I like that idea alot, but I wonder if in a state other than AZ such as NC that this mod might not pass inspections... Does anyone make a dual beam driving light with a single bolt mount? That way It might pass easier... I plan on doing a tube clip as well with Hoodpins and such, just to keep it simple... Ill post pics as progress of the tube work comes along... If anyone knows about light issues, let us know...
Hugh
yager 07-24-2002, 01:16 PM Lights....single post mount with dual (high/low) beams AND turn signals...
Try snow plow lights.... not very cheep @~$100 a pair, but they are fairly water tight and use a std. rectangule halogen light.
These ARE legal as the plow blade usually blocks all regular stuff on the truck...

i ran in to a guy last weekend and he had a old used one he said he didn't like it (looked stupid) and would sale it for $50 :)\

lojones 07-24-2002, 03:37 PM I dont think i would run one that open up here in the NW, too many branches would want to reach in there and rip out the wiring. Maybe install some paneling or keeping part of the fender well would work.
poppycock 07-24-2002, 06:12 PM $450??!! i made mine for about $20 :flipoff2:
RocKrawler 07-24-2002, 10:37 PM $425? I thought SCWAFISH said he paid like $300 for it on another post... I'd do it in a heartbeat for that... but for an extra $125 I could have a JD2 & 1.5" 180 degree die... Is that DOM or HREW?
scwafish 07-25-2002, 05:59 AM I paid $300 for mine, maybe the price went up?
lojones 07-25-2002, 10:26 AM Funny how cages and frames are so expensive when you look at how cheap sandrails are. Avalanche and Spidertrax want $5K to make a chassis but sandrails (admittedly a bit simpler) are a fraction of that.
Fabtec (http://www.sandstorm2.com) is out in Bonney Lake, WA, wonder if they would do any custom sammi stuff.
http://www.sandstorm2.com/images/WarriorAdColor.jpg $360 for the Uweld kit.

I Thought about those, but want a simple round light... Oh well, Ill keep a look out... Hugh
zukiboy 07-25-2002, 11:56 AM does anyone have the contact info. for xtreme4x directly.....could probably get the front end from them cheaper than from roadless...but i have not been able to find any info on the company itself.....looks like they don't deal with the general public directly.....

On the subject of lights: I wasn't happy with the Hellas for 30-50mph twisty road driving. The beams were a little too focused which made the turns pretty exciting if you didn't know the road. Same deal with hills, you wouldn't see how nasty the hill was till you started up it. I dug out my old rocklights on Saturday and mounted them on the front as an experiment. I aimed them above the Hellas and the results were pretty impressive. I could see hills well in advance, the light lit up the areas to the left and righ making corners easier to see and the wide light spread of the extra lights even lit up the area right in front of the rig more.
Picture of the extra lights. (http://www.azrockcrawler.com/_images/Dscn3151.jpg)

Niether...I got mine from the guy who makes them for Roadless before Roadless carried them.
