Need some ideas for a shifter for the TH350 I just swapped in my '87 Wrangler. I bought a B&M StarShifter but when in park the lever goes so far forward it almost hits the dash. What shifter has everyone else used for this swap with success? Thanks!!!!!

I would get an Art Carr shifter. That's next on my list:

I used a B/M Z-gate for my TH400. Once the center console was removed, I was able to put the shifter in a very comfortable spot. It is a cheap shifter, but works pefectly.

I used a B&M ratchet shifter for my auto swap. In retrospect, I should have gone with art carr, but I didnt have the money, so that didnt happen. All In all, Im happy with the B&M, but if you can spare the cash, go with an art carr/winters shifter the first time.

Can you tell me why you would prefer the Art Carr shifter over the B&M?
Also....what is approx. cost of the Art Carr?
Thanks,
Jay

Well. For me the one and only reason for going with the B&M shifter was the price. I got the ratchet for like 150 bucks. The Art Carr is in the 250-300 range, and thats a bit more money than I had at the time. The Art carr however is more sturdy, and has a better feel to it. Ive driven my friends YJ with an art carr and it does well. I loved it.

same issue, different aproach.....
I just swapped a 700R4 on my Cj7. Any idea how to use the stock linkage with the 700 ????
Actually, my problem is how to make it work, since the tf999 use a diferent lever at the tranny (flat plate v/s "C" type of the 700)
Any help, appreciate:barf: :barf: :barf:  :barf:

I used the Lokar shifter for my 700R4. You can use a similar model for the TH350. Here's a picture before the console went in, but it looks a lot better with the console in.
