Dodge Auto/CTD Questions???

I have noticed recently that when I have weight in the bed and or towing (very light) the trans feels as if it is slipping/shimmying off of the line. Is this is a preliminary sign of the trans going out or am I just paranoid? The trans was rebuilt about 25k miles ago but it spent the next 23k of those miles towing the previous owners giant fifth wheel travel trailer. The slipping/shimmying became quite noticeable last night when I had about 1500 lbs of fitness equipment in the bed.

some times the carrier bearing causes a shimmy

thr 47re's behind the cummins are junk unless they've got a good valve body and torque converter. Quite possibly could be the tranny, but I'd agree with the carrier bearing...check that first. Also check tranny fluid... does it have a dark color or smell funky?

Thanks for the replies. It is a 1995 with 149k miles on it. I will check the receipt on the rebuild to see what exactly was done to the trans.
