I took my 89 chevy suburbon down to the exhust shop today to have my mufler replaced and now they can not get it started.
I do know the fuel gauge is 3/4 past full and it is not getting any fuel.My burb only has 1/4 tank in it and I think they have grounded something what do you guys think ?I had them replace the fuel relay & fuel pump and the fuel gauge is still 3/4 past full and will move up a little then back down!
I would love to know what to say or do next they want me to pay to have it towed to A shop I drove it there and dont think I should pay to have it fixed I already payed for the relay and pump.

Does it start now after the relay and pump were changed? Or is the only problem you have is the reading of your fuel gauge?
Could be a few things....first off if its not starting and the pump and relay were changed, are you getting power to the pump, do you hear it buzzing? Did they check the fuses?
Your fuel gauge might not be reading correctly if the sending unit is bad.... IS the battery good, connections?
Unfortunately I can't provide more info without more details. Did they run a diagnostic test on it?
Did they weld the muffler with the battery hooked up...sometimes this will screw up the computer...

DO NOT PAY FOR ANYTHING ELSE!!! They will have everything on that truck replaced and you will be broke ......If you drove it in there ......it's their responability that it got fawked up while it was there.....= THEY PAY TO FIX IT....NO DISCUSSION!!!!

I bet they zapped the ECU (computer) when they were welding..... = THEY FIX IT  :mad3: :mad3:

Typical problem if they did any type of welding when they did their fab work. If they grounded their welder to your chasis they sent enough current to smoke your computer. My suggestion is they have it towed, they pay for the repairs.
