Are there any 6x5.5 lug axles that are as strong as an 8.8 and almost the same width but not any narrower?

'80-'86 Wagoneer AMC20 - Ring and pinion easily as strong as 8.8. 2 7/8" axle tubes. 29 spline shafts. 59" WMS
'86-'91 Wagoneer D44 - Ring and pinion smaller than 8.8. 2 7/8" axle tubes. 30 spline shafts. 59" WMS
both axles are 6X5.5 and pretty decent in strength, but probably not as strong as a 31 spline Explorer 8.8. Easy to find and cheap in the junk yards. BJ's carries chromo axles for the FSJ AMC20. Chromos for the D44 would have to be custom ordered.

I'm running an 8.8 in my bronco 2. I just bought a dana 44 for the front from a waggy. I dont' want to loose any stength if i switch to another axle. I may just buy some axle shafts for my 8.8 with 6x5.5 bolt pattern.

All Troopers (92' and up) have 6x5.5 and an Isuzu 12-bolt at 61-63" WMS. Strong axle with disk brakes but limited gear availability.
The Isuzu Rodeo has a D44 w/ 6x5.5 from about 92 on. 60-63" WMS
