I just purchased a 04-2500hd ram 4x4. It has the hemi, 5speed auto and 4.10 gears. Gonna be towing a 30 foot weekend warrior. What transmission cooler should I add to it? if any? (I know I should have bought the CTD but not in my budget)

add the cooler & a guage to keep an eye on what it's doing.
for the cooler the tru Cool 4590 (http://www.bulkpart.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=2&Product_Code=4590&Category_Code=tru-cool-hd&Product_Count=2) is what I'm running in my PSD.

I'm running that same cooler in my '84 350/700r4... works great and at $45 was well worth it

If your truck had the tow package, it already has the HD external cooler.

I'm running the tru-cool max 4739 (http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=257), and I have not been over 190, even pulling the Baker grade in 115 degree heat. It's a quality product for sure.

How big is the stock cooler. My truck had one too which made this install a cake walk. Except my stocker was only rated @ 9k, (why are they rated in weigh not BTU's?) it was 5X12 and sucked.
I'd get a guage install it to see what you are actually running some of the later models actually have adequate cooling w/ the towing packages from the factory. Then if you need more cooling buy ONE bigger cooler do NOT put the coolers in series. You can pass through the cooler built into the rad which will help for low air flow situations then an auxillary cooler.
what guages are you all running? I would like to add both to my dd/tow rig and dont want to go cheap

I'm running DiProcol guages that were rebranded to have a Western Diesel logo on them. Other good guages are ISS guages or Autometer. All will run you within spitting distance of the other so it comes down to a personal preference of what you like the looks of it.
I got mine b/c they closely match the original guages.
