Ok sorry for such a weak question but I just picked up a 1972 Blazer, it's a v-8 350 5.7lt. 4spd. and I've got a few questions. MY first question being more overall is, is there a way without keeping a wheel on the ground and stepping on the gas to tell if there are lockers on it? I forgot when we bought it if it came with any or not so any help is appreciated on that. Second of all how can I find some of the stock settings on my truck? i.e. Transmission (NP205 etc which one I've got), hp, ftlbs./tq. Thanks alot and sorry for sounding like an idiot

if it had a locker im sure the seller would have mentioned it, powerbrake it and if only one tire spins then youre open in the rear. Does it make any strange noises or feel funny while turning at low speed (like tire chirping, ratcheting sounds etc.)? those are both signs of a locker.

pop the diff cover off and look!

Raise both rear wheels and try to turn one. If the opposite side turns freely in the opposite direction, it's probably an open diff.

x2. its a good idea to change all fluids and check the gears before you go putting any kinda mileage on it. chances are its an open carier tho.

if anything, it might have the factory limited slip which is probably worn into an open diff by now.

SM465 trans. NP205 OR Dana 20 transfer case. D44 front. 12 bolt rear. (if its stock)
