than clean that up. Than kitty litter it again but this time grind the kitty litter into the real bad parts as it seems to have the effect of sand blasting except you grind it in with your boots( I use my Redwings). Than I used that SIMPLE GREEN stuff & it came out pretty good, just follow the directions. Good Luck it worked for me.

I use the cheap powder laundry detergent to remove the marks left by our bobcat on concrete. A combination of the detegent, some water and a stiff-bristled push broom yeilds excellent results. The detergent will help to free up the oil too.

Fire place ashes and water ....
Smear on as a mud, let dry and broom.
Try it! ;)

CostCo has something called Oil Eater I have not used it on concrete, but have used it on many other things, and it works well.

Yep - I drained my t-case in the driverway on time. Had one of those flat drain pans sitting on a bucket so the wind wouldn't blow the stream of oil onto the drive way. Went inside for a few, came back out and the bucket had tipped over.
I use a couple shots of Simple Green mixed 50/50 with water. Scrub it in with a broom, let it sit for a while then wash it off. The sooner you get to it before it soaks into the concrete the better. Then I hit the whole driveway once every couple months with that pool acid you can buy at OSH for like $2.99 a gallon.

I used muric (sp) acid. Umm it's probably illigal, anyway you can get it at most pool supply store places throw that shit on there and brush it in, I used that with some gritty stuff, then use water to make the fumes stop. Avoid the fumes, they'll like hurt you or something. Anyway that worked better than anything I've tried and minimal scrubbing.

edit: yeah what withamc said, the only reason I think it'd be illigal is cause it ends up going down the drain but it's pretty neutralized by then.

It is not neutrilized just diluted. You need to put baking soda on it to neutrilize it.

Just use the kitty litter, rub it in with your boot and it will come out. It may take a while, but it is the best way even if it seems too simple. I dont know how strict the greenies are in your area, but if they stay on top of things, I wouldnt us a surfactant(simple green, dawn etc), it makes the oil sink, and your local water treatment sytem can not treat the water nearly as well. And concerning the muratic acid, the water makes the fumes worse, and it etches your concrete, so it is not a good idea to use on a large are if you dont plan on putting a coating on after. It is primarily used within the building industry to clean concrete off of windows, bathtubs etc. As to pressure washing it, for it to work you need to use a surfactant, and you still have the rinsate water to deal with.

yeah the fumes get worse initially but eventually go away, it's great stuff. If nothing else at least it's fun to play with ;)

Behr makes a concrete cleaner that works really well. I got it at Home Depot for like $11 and it cleaned up my driveway after 6 years of abuse. You're supposed to dilute it but I just dumped it on straight, let it sit like 20 minutes then brushed the hell out of it and wash the stains disapper.

i prefer quick-try over kitty litter. kitty litter never seems to soak up any oil, the oil just clings it instead of soaking it. quick-dry is sold at about every parts store for like $5 for a big bag.

i also havent had much luck with a power washer. it seems to get whatever oil is on top, but wont touch whatever has soaked in.

Probably not legal to use as a cleaner but battery acid will get your concrete white--probably to white--untreated areas will look dirty.

ditto on the driveway cleaner, cleaned up 20 yr old oil stains in my garage so i could epoxy paint the floor. don't dilute it, just pour it straight on it. scrub, scrub, scrub, rinse ...

i use that castrol stuff too,it KICKS BUTT.. it is the same as greased lightning. and it will only take off paint that wasent put on really well.. aka: spray paint. I used to use it all the time to clean car engine bays.. made em so clean, you could literally eat off of them.. what i normally do is put on kitty litter, move my rig, sweep it up, put more on, grind it in.. let it sit, sweep it up.. spray on super clean, scrub it in with my metal pool brush, let it sit 15 min, and wash it off.. notmally comes out well.

if it still isnt off, then keep repeating.. I know I have some stains that i left on too long (2 weeks or so) and even with a 3000 psi pressure washer they wouldnt come up.. same with the PPG DP-90 i spilled
but yeah, it may be about 2x the price of simple green, but it is TOTALLY worth it...

I know it is probably not greenie correct, but brake cleaner does a great job of getting the stains out.

What's the best stuff to use to get largeish stains off a driveway?

I tried using CLR greasemagnet, but its not doing chit, and its in a spray bottle, so its a pain in the ass to get everything.

I think im going to try that Behr stuff from homedepot that soem of you recommended... That sounds like a winner, but want some additional input.

I have a pressure washer, its not the strongest thing, but its more than a garden hose.

What do you think?
