: Who splines axles?

I went through a lot of effort to make my rear D70 bomb proof but ran into a snag. I am one of the lucky owners of the rarest styles of rear 70 , the small bolt circle but large bolt hub, which is not addressed by aftermarket axle builders.

I got blank Yukon cromo. axles and now I need them splined. I can put the bolt pattern in but the spline is too much.

Any recommendations?

Jeff

It sounds like you have a similar problem that I have had with making my Dana 60 35 spline. It has the smaller bolt pattern also.

How long does the shaft need to be? I have some stock 35 spline Dana 70 shafts, and I believe they're both around 37" or so, I don't remember because its been so long since I measured them...

Several places respline shafts, one off the top of my head is Dutchman, they're located here in Oregon.

Try Moser, they are in Portland IN.

The shafts in my D70 are 39 3/4 long. They have a small 3 9/16" bolt circle but the large 1/2" bolt.

Putting 4340 axles in this diff is just overkill for a recreational offroader but I like overkill:grinpimp: .

I have two sets of stock axles for this diff , I went with aftermarket sticks for the bling but it turned out to be a pain in the ASS!

I have had a couple people direct me to Moser.

Thanks, Jeff
