: 12" body lift and 40's??
Zukster 09-04-2001, 06:58 PM What do you think of this Zuk? It looks like about a 12" body lift and maybe some 40's. Weird.
For what ever reason I can't get this picture to post - so here's a link.

x2_rage 09-07-2001, 01:37 PM Body lifts are stupid. Think about it:
You want a suspension lift so it brings the drivetrain AWAY from the ground . . therefore protecting your important stuff.
A 6" body lift on a body like a samurai is dangerous. You would have a STRONG chance of ripping the body from the frame.
The only things I think that are advantageos are:
1) Do not need to lengthen drivelines or adjust castor.
2) CHEAP
3) stock springs flex pretty good, add some missing links and it would flex ok.
But I still think its stupid

mudmagnet 09-07-2001, 01:47 PM it would be quit funny to see the body rip off when its crawling a ledge.....lol....

mudlite 09-10-2001, 06:27 AM I'm not saying that his 6" body is OK , but some times it is necessary for other reasons.
1.) V6 conversions need more room for exaust manifolds to get by the body.
2.) Automatic Tranny needs more room in the hump , and bogd lifts help so that you don't have to cut all the floor away.
3.) larger lift require severe drive line angles. Body lifts are generally required over 36's.
4.) For trail rigs why not. I don't think this is a daily driver.
5.) I've been running body lifts for 12 years with no problems. Have yet to loose a body off the frame. This has always been contraversal, but so is DOM tubing in rollcages.
Just my opinion. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Gozuki 09-11-2001, 12:40 PM Just think, for about the same cost as a decent spoa you could buy 4-5 body lift kits and some allthread and stack up 15" of lift!! Cheap, easy and lower center of gravity! I LIKE IT!! Now if only he had a wing and type R stickers....
