Insurance for Medium Trucks?

so I had a reality check last night, I can get financed on a 1 ton dually, but it will be a joke for hte payments because of my medical BK back in 2000 when I got hit. I can't afford a $950/month payment... my next option is a used class 4 or 5 truck, for about half as much.

I'm thinking international 4700 or something...

What insurance companies do you guys with "big" trucks use? I'm with 21st and they won't go over 1 ton, or "commercial"

Gmac will insure a commercial truck on a personal policy pretty reasonably.

Not sure if it will help but i've seen some of the rv'ers register theirs as motorhomes and that might change insurance up for ya. They are running kenworth t2000s that way.

I already tried that, I even went so far as to ask if I put a toilet and sink on it.. 21st said they can't insure it as an RV because it neverr was offered from the factory as an RV...

Time for a new insurance company. You can get insurance from Good Sam's Club (which is GMAC insurance). Their price isn't too bad.

Check these links on others experiences with heavy truck insurance. Depending on if you can convert your MDT (have to meet 4 out of 6 items on checklist here in IN) to a Motorhome, you can probably go the same route as some of these guys/gals
