I have an xj with a lift/gears/lockers and am wondering if the swamper 34x10.50 swampers will last on the street. It is a daily driver as well as a weekend rock warrior.

Long time ago I had the 34x10.50 with a spooled rear end. Between the spool pushing the front tires around corners and the tires barking around corners - they were about 40% worn after ~6k miles on a fairly light Jeepster. They are fairly soft - but for the price they were hard to beat.

fairly soft compound...but the XJ is not too heavy a rig...I would say you would get about 15-20K miles depending on your daily commute

I Have Them On My Tj. My Wife Drives It Everday, So If They Were Out Ill Buy More, There About Half The Price Of The Compition.

Yeah, they'll work on the road, their just not one of the better options for a DD in my opinion. I have the 33x13.50's on my TJ, but it's no longer a DD. I've heard to expect no more than 12-15k out of them on the highway. They're a bias ply and as such will beat the teeth out of your head for the first few miles on the highway due to the flat spotting - it's worst in the cold.

Depending on how many highway miles you see, you may want to consider the trxus MT. I ran BFG MT's first on my TJ when it was a DD. After Interco came out with the trxus, I got them and they are better than the BFG in every category off-road and on the highway (except they do wear a bit quicker). I got close to 30k out of them.

I noticed that you said you wheel rocks. If you don't see any mud, you may also want to look at MTR's. Some of my friends use them and they work really well on rock (a bit better than the trxus MT), but they suck balls in mud. The trxus will run circles around the MTR in mud.

We Have Pretty Cold Winter And I Noticed Very Little Flat Spotting. Mine Have About 3k Miles On Them And Are Wearing Better Than I Thought They Would, We Will See

one of my friends has the set up you are looking at. he drives fairly hard on his xj but they did not last very long at all i dont know how many miles he got out of them but they didnt seem to last very long if you spend the extra money and get the radial they seem to last a lot longer.
