Ih P/Us and T-alls can have a "Heavy half" D60-2 SF with 5x5.5.

Warn makes a full float kit that is 5 on 5.5 if you want to go that route.

No it's just like a D44 1.31" 30 spline

I just finished narrowing and installing a D60-2 (5 on 5-1/2", 4.10/Semi float/1.5"-35 spline axles) from a '73, J4700 to a '73 C104. [It was 64" wide. We cut 5-3/8" off the long side, making it Scout II width centering the pig.]
The '69-73 Jeep Glads and J trucks used the S.F. D60-2 in the model one pop down from the J4800, D60-3 (FF, 8 lug, 31 spline). After'73, all the H.D. rears were D60-3's.
'64-68 Gladiators used a Dana70, FF in the rear of the heavier trucks, no S.F. D60. Interestingly, the one I narrowed had the same size axle tubes as the HD, D44 axles. The 1.5" axle barely fits in there. The axle we converted had a factory Power Lok, kinda cool. Adjustable preload on cones. It was replaced with a Detroit, but we kept the 4.10's. We also used the stock 12" brakes. Yes, 12"x 2". The drums barely clear 15" wheels, but stopping power is very good.
regards, as always, jefe
