Having difficulty with a loose steering box mount. The bolt heads are in the boxed frame channel, and the welds have broken so that the bolts turn when trying to tighten the nuts. I have already cut a slot out of the side of the frame to get at two of the three bolts (the shacklemount shares two of these), but I am weary to cut any more out. Any suggestions. This is a 78 CJ7.

Couldn't resist. :flipoff2:
On to your problem. I wouldn't be cutting on my frame too much where the steering box mounts up. Cut the bolts off with a torch and weld some new ones in to replace your old broken nuts. :flipoff2:
good luck

yeah maybe just torchem off and drill straight through the frame and then run long bolts all the way through

cut the whole front of the frame off and redo it w/ box tube....move the steering box upright and flat on the box area deleting any crappy stock mount stuff and allowing for massive lift and axle relocation w/ minimal steering angle problems
