Al Kaholick 03-30-2002, 12:41 PM im building a 48 cj2a, all i have is th body and the vin is gone, im looking for a vin if anyone has one or some other suggestions of how to do it, im hoping to not have to take the finished product into the dmv because they wont like it. DMV CRO 03-31-2002, 10:58 PM On my '48 there was a number stamped right into the forward passenger side body (tub) mount.... also as far as I know all early Jeeps (civillian versions) had the serial # start with the model then six digits ie: CJ2A###### If you can get a number from the tub you could do a search with the DMV to find the title (when there is no police interest or liens on the serial # they wil usually transfer the title to you as long as you have a recipt...) | |
