Got this for my father in the mid 70's. Damn thing will not stall, but it will break your hand. The chuck will not hold a drill anymore. Go as tight as you can with it, start to drill and the bit falls out. I took the left hand screw out of the center of the chuck. What is the next step?
Thanks, James

After taking out the left hand screw. I belive you take the key and put it in the chuck as if you were changing a bit and hit the key with a hammer. I'm not sure which way.

Rather than use the chuck key, use a large (10mm) allen wrench. Clamp it in the jaws so if you point the drill away from you like a gun it is on the right side. When it is tightened smack the allen wrench sharply with a metal bar, they work better than a hammer usually. Something 3/4" by about a foot long is perfect.
