The lca's on my TJ Need to be about 3/8" shorter, but they are already threaded tigh to the jam nut. Can i do without the jam nut, or must I cut the arm and shorten it?

Check and see how deep the tubes are threaded. That will give you your answer as to how much can be cut with still enough thread engagement

Don't jam nuts prevent the tubes from turning and ultimately coming apart?

they are needed, regardless its a VERY cheap way to make sure things dont come apart, very very cheap safety measure.

IMO, you could do away with one on each of the LCA's, just make sure to snug the link all the way up to the joint, then adjust it on the other end

you could just weld one side...not that I would do that...but it may be an option
