: Tundra Battery Mount

Well, after four years my OEM battery in my 02 Tundra needs replacing. After talking to many people the most recommended battery is the Exide Orbital battery. So I bought it to find out that the mounting system is virtually unadjustable. The Exide is over an inch shorter and a third of an inch narrower (from front to rear if battery is in battery box). I can almost adjust for the height, but I cannot adjust for the narrower part. After giving up trying to Jerry-Rig something to make it work, I took back the Exide and got a 27F battery, which is the OEM size. I took it home and it was not the exact same size as the OEM and since I can’t adjust my battery mount I had to return it. Toyota is certain that, after they overcharge me for their battery, it will fit.

I called Napa, Kragen, and did a large web search, but was unable to find an aftermarket adjustable battery mounting kit for a Tundra. Toyota says that all Tundras have the exact same mounting kit. I could fabricate one, but damn does anyone know of an aftermarket battery mounting kit for a Tundra or come up with an easy solution? I can’t believe Toyota would sell a vehicle with a virtually unadjustable battery mounting system.

I appreciate any assistance,
Joshua

do you couldn't find a piece of scrap wood laying around that could of held the thing in?
how about a standard j hook hold down?
ratchet straps or bungie cords?
Not sure you are going to find an adjustable battery hold down in the aftermarket, and this is certainly the wrong place to be asking.
if ya can't figure it out on your own, delete the post and go look at tundra soultions.

I've put three (3) batteries in my 2002 Tundra in the past 3 years and all 3 were different sizes dimenionally and CCs. I didn't any problem with mounting them with the factory mounting bar and j-hook!! What are you talking about?????
