My92 v6 has been running rough and has lose of power when driven hard, also surging at highway speeds. I ran through the usual checks, wires, plugs, cap rotor. Using the factory service manual I checked the air flow meter for the specified resistance. All of the 4 checks were good. The check for terminals Vs and E2 were at 2.9 ohms. The manual says that if not within specs to replace the afm. Anyone have advice for this or additional trouble shooting suggestions. Thanks

You and every other V6:D. Some days are better than others but it seems nearly everyone with a 3vz has this mysterious problem.

Hook up an in-cab fuel pressure gauge and drive it around a little bit, this sounds like you may have a fuel system problem. the fuel pressure should only vary a few pounds +/- while driving.
if you have the factory service manuals you should read the chapter on self diagnostics, and run the Key On Engine Off test and then the Engine Running test. You can pull the trouble codes this way with nothing more than some short (2" - 6") wires and a simple Test Light or even a turn signal bulb.

I have run the diag with the engine off and have pulled no codes. I will try it with it running. Also will look into the fuel pressure. After I could'nt retreave any codes I went to the trouble shooting chart. Some of the tests I can do some not.
Back to the air flow meter, If one reading is out of spec should I get a new meter.
