Are there any 1 person buggies that can be street legal too?
I remember when I was little honda had some 1 person buggles at the ATV store. Do they still make those? Are they street legal?
I'm thinking of making 1 or buying one. Maybe to trailer out to an off road area but still legal to cross and use the local roads to get around if need be.

They were Honda Odyssey's and Honda Pilot,s. The Pilot was a 400cc buggy with forward and rev. 4w ifs. And none were ever street legal from the factory. No, they don't make them anymore.

That guy in Orangevale with the tan buggy that was recently in Top Truck voting (sorry, I looked for pictures and couldn't find any :( ) said that he is going to register his. It is a single seater but it has a windshield and he is building/built fenders that turn with the wheels. Being in California I think that this would be a PITA and more trouble than it is worth, just get a green sticker and -try- to stay off the streets.

sounds like CAL. is too strict on that stuff, it would be no prob at all here in AZ. alot of rails and buggies and all kinds of stuff on the streets here. i have seen a honda pilot or two street legal, not to mention quads. i also know a guy with a retired class 4? fullsize baja racer, he got all the safety/street stuff and registered as a home built, just like a kit car i guess. anyway it falls under the dune buggy classification so does not require a body or fenders.
i think a full blown rock buggy would be just fine to register as long as it has the required safety parts. but there must be a reason i dont see them street legal, like on road handling and top speed.

the reason I'd want it street legal because when I was up around frazier park my friends and I were talking to and hanging out with some local guys on off road dirt bikes. The just went from the trail to their house like a mile away and they all got tickets for driving the bikes on the street. They get them all the time too which sucks.
