"BING, BING, BANG....the sound of a piston saying goodbye" Piston number three has said goodbye, I'm considering the 1.6 and am wondering if and why you need the converion kit to install the 1.6 in the Samurai? And are there any more things I should know about the conversion.......(electrical, fuel pump, drive shafts, transmission?)

An 8v will pretty much bolt in with a tranny adapter plate. Intake and exhaust will bolt on. You will need an electric fuel pump, the pass side mount need to be moved back about 1"(or get that in a kit)... 16 valve intake and exhaust is totally different, wiring, EFI, gas tank gauges etc need to be swapped...

I'm in the very final phases of a 16v conversion and its a fair bit of work, but nothing too hard, just a ton of little details.

I did have to cut out a bunch of the hood braces and fabricate a new throttle bracket to get it to fit under the hood. If youve got a body lift it would be no problem. If it runs as good as it looks, I'll be stoked.

I put the eight valve in one of my rigs and had to put a 1 inch body lift on . I had the hose clamp screw on the intake turned up and when i shut the hood it put a dent in it so not much clearence .
