Looking for a local place (in the IE--Riverside or San Berdoo preferably) to buy material for my links. The place I usually go (K-H in Riverside) gets all glazed-eyed when you mention DOM or chromo. Anybody got'ny suggestions?

Just call Tube Service in El Cajon. they are a long way away but will deliver to you. I have used Patton before but I don't think they are selling DOM any more. Kartech in Corona has it and the prices are good in small quantities but selection is low some times. AricraftSprice and supply has everything but prices are a bit high and you may have to wait to get a small order filled. the last 2 you have to go get the goods which is hard for me, my time is limited.

Hope this helps

Try this one also. Haven't been there in a while so call first.

Superpages has it listed as both

All Cities Steel
and as Corona Steel & Supply
8864 Jurupa Road, Riverside, CA 92509

We have some tubing in stock for links and sell by the foot. What do you need? I am getting my heat treated 4130 tubing soon.

Thinking of using 2" x .250 for the lowers and 1.75" x .120 for the uppers. Not sure on lengths yet but will probably buy 48" lengths (2 of each) then cut to fit. I haven't measured and calculated my link lengths yet but I will before I buy the material, but I'm reasonably sure they'll be under 48. If you want to quote a price shipped to 92223 please do.

We sell 2" x .250 DOM for $10 per ft and 1.75 x .120 DOM for $5 per ft, we can ship up to 6'. I also have 1 3/4 x .188 4130 chromoly that has one end swaged and treaded to 1 1/4-12 thread and then heat treated, it is equivalent 2" x .313 DOM at about 1/2 the weight. We stock 3' and 4' length that are in the $100 to $130 range each.

K&H is only good when you are willing to pay for the cuts cuz you don't want any extra material. The two other places that I shop at are Patton's Steel on Mission Ave. in Ontario and Ramcast Steel & Tube also on Mission in Pomona. I think that Ramcast has better prices but not much ability to look around if you are not 100% sure of what you want. Patton's is a little more than Ramcast but you can look around. However both of them will not shudder when you wana order 4130 or DOM.
