: Are toyota 2wd rear springs same as 4wd?

Would the rear springs out of an 83 2wd toyota pu be the same as 83 4wd? My buddy needs rear springs for the front and he can get these 2wd drive ones for $20.

of memory they are shorter and i know they have less leaves

Im not sure about the 80s, but on my 92 4wd and 90 2wd they are the same length, the 2wd has one less leaf, 2wd is spring under axle, dont know if that will make a difference.

I had the guy measure them and he said they are 42" eye to eye. If he is correct then I guess the springs will be too short, oh well, time to look for some 4wd ones. :D
