I am swapping in Toy axles, I have heard a front Toy driveshaft with a "CV" will work with the centered diff. Will it bolt up to the flanges of the newer Sammys? If so anyone got one they want to sell? Also what are you guys running for the front? <IMG SRC="smilies/usa.gif" border="0">

the CV joint will not work due to the fact that you will have 2 angles to work with. The rear end must point directly to the Double cardan joint to prevent vibs. This would be impossible for the rear end, but the front may be ok if the pinion is pointed raight at the transfercase flange.

that's funny cause mine works fine, and I think everyone else who has done the swap as well seems to have use the same set up, toy front CV as a rear on a sammy. <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

If you can keep your rear u-joint angle with in 3-4 degrees of the t-case you can run a CV at a compound angle. That is what they are designed for. <IMG SRC="smilies/smokin.gif" border="0">

I put a double jointed front yota shaft in the rear of my sammi and it works great. You do half to get the re-machined flanges from trail tough. they run about 40 bucks for the pair.

You could also redrill the flanges.

I believe the flanges on the newer sammys mate directly with the toy driveshaft. Mine the toy fits a little loose, and I think it would be hard to line everything up to redrill for the new shaft. Do the ones Trail Tough have bolt up directly?
