Can anyone explain or give me pics of how the chevy fuel tank swtich is suposed to be hooked up? Thanx for the help.

What year? Dual tanks? Need more info. Are you replacing one or installing 1 from scratch? :confused:

Actually, it is on a Fj-40 and I think it might be hooked up wrong. I have dual tanks. One has two hoses going out of it, the other oonly has one. The one with two hoses only uses about half of its capacity (I don't know if this has anything to do with the switch) the rear (one hose) works fine. The wierd thing is there is this extra hose coming off the switch, but it goes to nowhere. there is just a hose with a filter on the end in my engine compartment, but the line has gas in it! What is going on? As you can tell I did not build this thing. So a overview - - Dual tanks - - One has two lines coming out of it that go to the switch, only uses half of capacity -- rear (One hose) works fine--- switch has two lines coming off of it, one goes to carb, other to nowhere! Help me please!!!!:confused: :confused: :confused:

1st. The one that has 2 hoses in it that uses only half of its capacity sounds like the "pickup" inside the tank might be "short"look into it's length. Also the 2nd hose might be kind of a external "vent" line and it might even be a return line from the carb. that isn't hooked up.
2nd. If I was you I would look into running both gas lines together with a "T" and the 2 vent lines together.
