Looking for an inline fuel pump to run a 96 vortec 350 that my dad swapped into his jeep. Anyone know what gph and pressure this engine requires? Ran one from an efi swap on a 4.2 jeep motor for a while but it finally is dieing. Thanks for your help.

Not sure on the GPH but you'll need 50psi to start and maintain at least 45 to run. My .02$:grinpimp:

The type of fuel pump is important. If I am not mistake, you require approximtely 60 psi for this motor and 30gpm.

thanks guys for the help. Any suggestions where i could find such a high volume high pressure pump? if the pump is over in gph or psi will i cause any harm to the stock fuel system? Thanks again....TTL

You can get the recommended fuel pump from Fuel Injection Specialists (www.fuelinjection.com). They supplied me with mine.

The external pump you need can be founf in the "street and performance" catalogue. It retails for 150 about. The intank pump that does the same thing is about 40-50 and is supposed to be more efficient. I have a vortec 350 (1997) in my scrambler and i took a sending unit from a tbi powered blazer and put it in my jeep tank with little modification. If I were you I would make/modify a sending unit with a long return line that is hard line. Then with the intank pump which hooks up with hose clamps and and rubber fi hose, zip tie it to the bottom of the hard return line. the benefit of using a sending unit out of a blazer or truck that has somewhat similiar depth to yours is that the wires that connect the pump will be a closer length and everything plugs in at the top with a plug. Oh yeah make sure your return and feed lines are the right diameter, I know that wasnt a question but its important. 3/8 feed and 5/16 return.
